Ground-Floor Apartment Interior Design in De Pijp, Amsterdam

This residential interior project in Amsterdam’s De Pijp neighborhood involved the complete transformation of the ground and first floors into a connected two-level apartment, with a new staircase, open-plan living space, bespoke storage and full-height garden glazing.

A newly constructed staircase connects the two floors, creating a single two-level home and establishing a clear architectural connection between the ground and first floors.

On the ground floor, we created an expansive open-plan living area. Custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry conceals the restroom, laundry area, wardrobe and utility meters, while providing integrated storage throughout the space. A gray-washed oak chevron parquet floor continues onto the staircase, and the kitchen combines a custom floor-to-ceiling storage wall with a 3.5-metre island.

Facing the garden, the original facade was replaced with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors to bring more natural light into the interior and strengthen the connection with the outdoor space. The interior is completed with furniture from Vitra and lighting by Flos.
