Ground-Floor Apartment Interior Design in De Pijp, Amsterdam

This residential interior design project in Amsterdam’s De Pijp neighborhood involved the complete transformation of the ground floor and first floor into a connected two-level apartment, featuring a new staircase, an open-plan living space, custom storage, and full-height garden windows.

A newly built staircase connects the two floors, creating a single two-level home and establishing a clear architectural connection between the ground floor and the first floor.

On the ground floor, we created a spacious open-concept living area. Custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry conceals the restroom, laundry area, closet, and utility meters, while providing built-in storage throughout the space. A gray-washed oak chevron parquet floor extends onto the staircase, and the kitchen features a custom floor-to-ceiling storage wall paired with a 3.5-meter island.

Facing the garden, the original facade was replaced with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors to bring more natural light into the interior and strengthen the connection with the outdoor space. The interior is furnished with pieces from Vitra and lighting by Flos.
